Cover

Four miniatures standing next to BarricadesCover helps miniatures defend themselves from attacks. Cover is divided into three categories: light, heavy, and no cover, and is determined during the attack sequence. Some rules refer to cover having a numerical value that is improved or reduced— light cover has a value of 1, heavy cover has a value of 2, and no cover has a value of 0. The numerical value of cover cannot be increased above 2 for any reason.
